How to Change an LLP's Registered Office
Moving an LLP’s registered office means updating its official address on record with the Registrar — done through Form 15.
1. Get partner approval
The partners approve the move, as required under the LLP Agreement — some agreements specify a minimum consent threshold for this kind of decision.
2. Line up address proof for the new office
A recent utility bill or similar proof of the new address is needed, along with a no-objection certificate from the property owner if the LLP doesn’t own the premises itself.
3. Get the filing certified
A practising Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary, or Cost Accountant certifies the Form 15 filing before it’s submitted.
4. File Form 15 within 30 days
The form is filed with the Registrar within 30 days of the office actually changing, along with the documents above.
5. Update the address everywhere else
Once the change is on record, update the registered office address on PAN, GST, bank accounts, letterheads, and any other official filings or documents that reference it.
