Authorised Signatory Letter for GST Registration of an LLP (Format)
When an LLP applies for GST registration, the portal asks for proof of appointment of the authorised signatory. For an LLP this is usually a letter of authorisation signed by the partners, with the signatory's acceptance. Here is a format you can adapt and print on the LLP's letterhead.

ACCEPTANCE

[Signature] — [Name of authorised signatory]
Upload it as the proof of appointment in the authorised signatory section of the GST registration application. For an LLP, Aadhaar authentication is done by the primary authorised signatory and one designated partner. Where the portal flags the application, it may instead book biometric Aadhaar authentication and document verification at a GST Suvidha Kendra. An LLP's application must be signed with the authorised signatory's DSC (digital signature certificate); e-sign and EVC cannot be used by an LLP. Use the same name as on the signatory's PAN.
Good to know
- If the LLP agreement names who may deal with tax authorities, follow it, and have the letter signed by the partners it requires.
- Change the authorised signatory later through a non-core amendment on the GST portal, with a fresh letter.
- If the GST application gets a query, see GST registration problems for LLPs.
