DIR-3 KYC No Longer Annual: MCA Moves to a 3-Year Filing Cycle
Every designated partner with a DIN used to file DIR-3 KYC every single year. Under an MCA amendment effective 31 March 2026, that requirement now applies once every three financial years instead.
This applies to LLP designated partners and company directors alike, anyone holding a DIN. The new cycle is anchored to the financial year your DIN was allotted: you file DIR-3 KYC by 30 June of the year following every third consecutive financial year, instead of every single year. If your registered mobile, email, or address changes in between, you are still required to update it within 30 days via the same web form. Missing your due filing year still attracts the standard late fee, so it is worth marking your specific three-year date rather than assuming no filing is needed indefinitely.
